Located in a place where sailboats navigate and the Han River and the Yangtze River converge, Wuhan No.1 Hospital (Wuhan Hospital of Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine) is a modern comprehensive Grade III Level A hospital integrating medical treatment, teaching, and scientific research. Established in 1927, the hospital is one of the earliest public hospitals in Hubei Province. Initially named "Hankou Municipal Hospital," the hospital was renamed "Wuhan No.1 Hospital" in 1949 and designated as "Wuhan Hospital of Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine" in 1985. After enduring almost a hundred years of changes, the hospital has established a "1+1+2" spatial layout of one hospital with four campuses, including one main campus on Liji Road, one new branch known as Panlongcheng Branch, and two specialized diagnosis and treatment centers (Panlong Rehabilitation Medicine Center and Hanxi Hemodialysis Center). It covers an area of about 350 mu, with a medical business area of 380,000 square meters. It has a total of 4,260 authorized beds and 3,616 available beds.
